As with any complex undertaking, careful planning is the key to success. At Chudley International we’ve moved thousands of families to new homes across the UK, but we never take anything for granted. No two moves are the same and we take care to make sure nothing is left to chance.
Our experienced surveyors will visit your home and carryout a detailed survey noting not just the items to be moved, but checking things such as access roads to your property, parking restrictions, and whether any special equipment such as lifts or stair-climbers will be needed to carry out the move.
During the survey you will have the opportunity to talk to the surveyor and raise any concerns you may have about your move: what can and cannot be taken in the vehicle, or how to take care of the cat on moving day, for example.
The surveyor will prepare a detailed written estimate for your move including any extras such as storage or additional insurance. Our surveyors are not salesmen and you will not be put under any pressure to make a decision. Although most of our customers prefer an in-person survey, a growing number of people are opting to use our video survey option. This is particularly useful if you are not at home during the working day and prefer to conduct the survey yourself in the evening or at weekends.
Using a mobile device such as a smart phone or iPad, you video the contents of your home while being directed by one of our surveyors back at the depot. The surveyor will guide you room-by-room and also ask you to video the contents of cupboards and wardrobes, etc. As with the in-person survey you will still be able to discuss any aspects of your move with the surveyor and a detailed estimate will be sent to you as normal.
